How it works
- Who starts
- Red right-back 2, with the ball, after winning it.
- Who takes part
- Eleven reds against eleven blues, with their goalkeepers.
- What the ball does
- It moves forward vertically in four passes at most and ends in a shot.
- How to score
- Normal goal: 1 point. If the fifth pass arrives without a shot, the ball goes to the opponent.
- When it ends
- With the shot, a tackle won, if the ball goes out or on the fifth pass with no shot; the match is 4 parts of 10 minutes.
- How it restarts
- As in a match: goal kick, throw-in or kick-off.
- How players rotate
- There is no rotation of positions: everyone in their own position.

Goal
Attack quickly and vertically after winning the ball, getting a shot away in few passes.
Description
An 11 against 11 match on a full pitch. The team that wins the ball has to shoot at goal before making a fifth pass; if not, they lose possession. It forces quick, vertical attacking, as in a counter-attack, instead of passing it around.
Step by step
- 1
First pass: right-back 2 gives it to midfielder 7 down the wing.
- 2
Second pass: 7 looks vertically for forward 10.
- 3
Third pass: 10 lays it off facing play for midfielder 8, who is arriving.
- 4
Fourth pass: 8 plays a long pass into space for 9, who breaks.
- 5
9 dribbles towards goal.
- 6
And shoots before the fifth pass arrives.
Rules
Unlimited touches. Offside applies. You have to shoot at goal before the fifth pass between teammates; on the fifth pass with no shot, the ball goes to the opponent. 4 parts of 10 minutes.

No rotation of positions: everyone plays in their own position.
Coaching points
- On winning it, the first look is forward.
- Forwards ready to break into space as soon as we win it.
- Few touches: every pass has to move the ball forward.
- Attack with several players at once so the opponent can't reorganise.
Common mistakes
Winning it and making the first pass backwards for no reason.
How to correct: If there is a clean forward pass, make that one first.
The forward waits for the ball to feet and stands still.
How to correct: Break into the space behind the defence.
Wasting the passes in midfield.
How to correct: Count: by the second pass the ball must already be in the opponent's half.
Questions for the players
- “How many passes have we made?”
- “Who can break in behind?”
- “Is this pass needed or can I dribble?”
Levels
- A · easyShoot before the seventh pass.
- B · standardAs described: before the fifth pass.
- C · advancedBefore the fourth pass and within 10 seconds of winning the ball.
If you have fewer or more players
- With 6 fewer: 8 against 8 on an 8-a-side pitch, shoot before the fourth pass. (8v8)
- With 2 more: Two jokers who play with the attacking team and don't count as a pass. (11v11+2)
- With odd numbers: The extra player acts as a joker with the attacking team.
Age
Variations
- Quick goal counts double. If you shoot before the third pass, the goal counts two.
- Time limit. As well as the passes, you have to shoot within 12 seconds of winning the ball.
