How it works
- Who starts
- Red centre-back 5, with the ball.
- Who takes part
- Eleven reds against eleven blues, with their goalkeepers.
- What the ball does
- It keeps changing line: from defence to midfield, from midfield to attack, and ends in a shot.
- How to score
- A normal goal: 1 point.
- When it ends
- Each move ends with a goal, a tackle, the ball going out or the fourth pass in the same line; the match is 4 periods of 10 minutes.
- How it restarts
- As in a match: goal kick, throw-in or kick-off. If the rule is broken, the opponents restart.
- How players rotate
- No rotation of positions: everyone in their own position.

Goal
Connect the team's lines and move the ball forward instead of circulating it sideways.
Description
An 11v11 match on a full pitch. The team in possession cannot make more than three consecutive passes between players of the same line (defence, midfield or attack): they have to find a teammate in another line. It makes the ball move forward and gets the lines connected and helping each other.
Step by step
- 1
The centre-back passes to the full-back (first pass in the defence).
- 2
The full-back changes line and gives it to the midfielder on his side.
- 3
The midfielder passes it to the other midfielder (pass within the line).
- 4
The midfielder changes line and looks for forward 10.
- 5
10 dribbles towards the box while 9 attacks the space.
- 6
Pass from 10 to 9.
- 7
9 shoots at goal.
Rules
At most three consecutive passes between players of the same line; the fourth has to go to another line or the ball is lost. Unlimited touches. Offside applies. 4 periods of 10 minutes.
Equipment
- 2 full-size goals
- Bibs: 11 red and 11 blue
- Spare balls at each goal

Rotation and restart
No rotation of positions: everyone plays in their own position. Between periods, players within a line can be swapped.
Coaching points
- Before receiving, know how many passes your line has made.
- The players in the line ahead show between opponents for the vertical pass.
- Vertical pass whenever it is clean; if not, a safe one.
- Keep the lines close to each other: if they are far apart there is no pass.
Common mistakes
Passing sideways with no purpose and losing it on the fourth pass.
How to correct: From the second pass in the line, already look for the pass to another line.
The midfielders stay behind the opponents and do not show.
How to correct: Move into the gaps between opponents to receive facing forward.
The lines drift too far apart.
How to correct: Stay compact: no more than 15 m between lines.
Questions for the players
- “How many passes has your line made?”
- “Who in the line ahead is free?”
- “Why is it a good idea to keep the lines close?”
Levels
- A · easyFour passes at most in the same line.
- B · standardAs described: three at most.
- C · advancedTwo passes at most in the same line, and the pass to another line has to go forward.
If you have fewer or more players
- With 6 fewer: 8v8 on an 8-a-side pitch, with three lines (defence, midfield and attack). (8v8)
- With 2 more: Two jokers who play with the team in possession and do not count for the rule. (11v11+2)
- With odd numbers: The extra player acts as a joker with the team in possession.
Age
Variations
- Forward pass to another line. The pass that changes line has to go towards the opponents' goal.
- Bonus for skipping a line. A pass from defence straight to the attack is worth an extra point if it ends in a shot.
- With jokers. Two jokers who play with the team in possession and do not count for the rule.
