How it works
- Who starts
- A6, the blue player on the left short side, with the ball.
- Who takes part
- Seven blue players on the outside (A1 to A7) and two red players inside, R1 in the left square and R2 in the right one.
- What the ball does
- A6 passes to A1, R1 closes down, A1 passes to A4 and A4 plays to A5 while R2 presses in their square.
- How to score
- Ten passes in a row without a win are worth one point for the outside players.
- When it ends
- Each action, when the defender wins the ball or it goes out; the set, when time is up.
- How it restarts
- The outside player closest to where the ball was won restarts play.
- How players rotate
- The defender who wins the ball takes the place of the player who lost it, and that player comes in to defend in the same square.

Goal
Keep possession with movement on the outside and safe passes, and defend well oriented inside a zone.
Description
Two 10 x 10 m squares side by side form a 20 x 10 rectangle. Seven players spread around the outside: three on the top long side (one of them right on the line separating the squares), two on the bottom long side and one on each short side. Inside there are two defenders, one in each square, and each can only win the ball in their own. The outside players keep possession by moving along their line to always offer a safe pass. When a defender wins the ball or it goes out, they swap with the player who lost it.
Step by step
- 1
A6 passes to A1.
- 2
R1 closes down A1, cutting out the pass to A2.
- 3
A1 passes to A4, away from R1.
- 4
A4 plays to A5.
- 5
R2 closes down A5 in their square.
Rules
The outside players can only move along their line, without entering the squares. Each defender can only win the ball inside their own square. If the ball goes out because of a bad pass, it counts as a win. Ten passes in a row without a win: one point for the outside players.

Rotation and restart
The defender who wins the ball goes to the position of the player who lost it, and that player comes in to defend in that square.
Coaching points
- Move along your line so there is always a clear passing lane.
- Pass firmly and to your team-mate's good foot.
- Defender: close down at an angle to block the pass to the nearest player.
- Secure the pass rather than take a risk.
Common mistakes
The outside players stand still and the defender blocks the pass easily.
How to correct: Move a step either way along the line to open the passing angle.
The defender goes straight at the ball and lets it pass by.
How to correct: Close down in a curve, blocking the easiest pass with the body.
Weak passes that arrive bouncing.
How to correct: Strike with the inside of the foot, plant foot next to the ball.
Questions for the players
- “Which way do you move when the defender blocks the pass to you?”
- “Defender, which pass do you try to cut out first?”

If you have fewer or more players
- With 8 fewer: Remove the middle player: 6v2. (6v2 in two squares)
- With more: Set up another rondo next to it; or add one more joker on the outside, 8v2. (8v2 in two squares)
- With odd numbers: The extra player comes in as a third defender who moves from one square to the other.
